What & why this matters
What it is: acknowledge every walk-in within ~8 seconds of entry — eye contact, a warm hello, or a clear nod. Why it helps: clients decide almost instantly if anyone noticed them; silence feels like rejection and they browse with their guard up. You're not pitching yet — you're proving the floor is awake. Acknowledgment beats a perfect script.
Mentor tip: Count “one-Mississippi…” from the door — if you hit eight without a greeting, you waited too long.
